    TiE It Up is a professional Theatre in Education company delivering quality performances of set texts to GCSE, 'A' level and BTec students. The company employs professional actors/workshop leaders to engage with students to explore text, performance styles and themes to assist with and enhance existing study. The company is based in South Yorkshire and has been set up by Elliot Montgomery and David Chafer, who both have a passion for live theatre and helping young people learn more about plays and their performance.
About
  • Elliot Montgomery is a drama teacher,  educational advisor and director. He trained at Huddersfield University graduating with a BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies in 1998. A year later he completed a PGCE in Secondary Drama Education at Bretton Hall. Since then he has worked in a number of secondary schools and has earned a reputation as an outstanding teacher, faculty leader, specialist drama advisor and now as an assistant head teacher. Elliot has taught in key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. His expert knowledge of drama in education, coupled with his extensive experience of performance, guarantees a perfect balance between a quality production and an enriching educational experience.
About
  • David Chafer is an actor and TiE It Up's producer. Following a successful 25-year business career in communications and event management, David re-trained and became a professional actor in 2011. His theatre credits include: 'The Last Seam', Cast; 'The Damned United' for Red Ladder; 'Striking Dilemmas', The Melting Shop; 'All Things Considered', Esk Valley Theatre; 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde', 'The Importance of Being Earnest', Theatre Mill, York. He has worked in TV, 'Coronation Street', 'Emmerdale', 'Hollyoaks' and 'Scott & Bailey' and film, 'Low Rollers' and 'The Human Solution'. David also works as a training facilitator and workshop developer for a corporate training company that uses drama at the heart of its work.
    Elliot and David love outstanding live theatre, the Edinburgh Fringe and real ale - which they combine successfully on as frequent a basis as possible.
